Matt is a registered Professional Engineer and a graduate from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Geological Engineering. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University. Matt has nearly 20 years of experience as a consulting engineer in Western Canada. His expertise includes physical hydrogeology, contaminated sites assessment and remediation, landfill design, and project management.

Matt has led several large-scale, multidisciplinary land development and contaminated site remediation projects including the former Youbou Sawmill on the shores of Cowichan Lake. He has completed numerous detailed groundwater modeling studies to address issues related to mining, contaminated sites, landfills, sewage disposal, water supply, and hydroelectric dams.

Matt is a father of two young kids and in his free time enjoys soccer and CrossFit. He has been a Principal with Active Earth since our incorporation in 2007.
