Rene is a Senior Geotechnical Technician who has over 34 years of experience in geotechnical field
investigation and testing, as well as inspection and supervision during construction. His field investigation work
covers field and laboratory testing of soils including inspection of various types of drilling, classification and
interpretation of test hole data for log presentation, and site fill evaluation and testing. His inspection and
supervision during construction covers site preparation for various building structures. This work includes
inspection and testing of cut and fill operations, bearing capacity for foundations, pavement structures, anchor
and shoring installations, installations of various pile types and ground densification.
Rene has provided geotechnical services for a wide range of projects of all sizes consisting of industrial, marine,
commercial, residential, institutional, public facilities, municipal, health care, and transportation projects.
Rene joined Active Earth in 2021 and is working with the Geotechnical and Environmental Team.
In his free time, Rene enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his family. He has two sons, a stepson
and recently a grandson.
